Relativity Studios Partners with Condé Nast Entertainment and Vogue to produce and distribute documentary about the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Spring 2015 Costume Institute Exhibition and Gala
Andrew Rossi to Direct Documentary
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., (April 16, 2015) – Relativity Studios has partnered with Condé Nast Entertainment and Vogue to produce and distribute a documentary about the making of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s spring 2015 Costume Institute exhibition and gala. Noted documentarian Andrew Rossi (Page One: Inside the New York Times, Ivory Tower) is set to direct.
The documentary will chronicle the creation of The Costume Institute exhibition, China: Through the Looking Glass, from inspiration to construction in The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Anna Wintour Costume Center and Department of Asian Art galleries, as well as the making of and rare moments inside the annual Gala Benefit celebration.

China: Through the Looking Glass will explore the impact of Chinese aesthetics on Western high fashion. It will be on view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City from May 7 through August 16, 2015 (preceded on May 4 by The Costume Institute Benefit).
Andrew Bolton, Curator in The Costume Institute, is organizing the exhibition in collaboration with the Met’s Department of Asian Art. World-renowned filmmaker Wong Kar Wai serves as the exhibition’s Artistic Director. Nathan Crowley is production designer for the exhibition.
Beracasa-Beckman, who served as a producer for Relativity Studios’ Desert Dancer, will produce the film. Her recently formed Planted Projects production company has a first-look deal with Relativity Studios. Beracasa-Beckman is also a strategic advisor to M3/Relativity, Relativity’s fashion and brand building division.
Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanagh and Matthew Weaver (Rock of Ages, Jiro Dreams of Sushi) will also serve as producers, along with Dawn Ostroff from Condé Nast Entertainment. Weaver’s MediaWeaver Entertainment company has a first-look deal with the studio. The film will be executive produced by Skot Bright and Tucker Tooley.
Relativity’s upcoming films include the 2015 Sundance Film Festival hit The Bronze (July 10), Masterminds (August 7) starring Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis, Kidnap (October 9) starring Halle Berry and Autobahn (October 30) starring Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones, Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley.
