All great shows begin with great characters. Relativity Television’s Casting Department is responsible for discovering and developing the dynamic reality television personalities delivered into living rooms throughout the world. With a special eye for identifying intriguing characters, jobs, situations and locations, the Casting Department thrives off of bringing the unique and unusual to the mainstream.

A passion for bringing real people from all walks of life, to the TV screen motivates the constant and continuous search for compelling new material. Giving these characters the opportunity to share their stories via the reality TV genre allows viewers the insider access into worlds which would otherwise remain foreign.

Whether finding an incredible person with a special spark, hidden treasure communities, or an undiscovered way of life, the Casting Department is committed to sourcing and understanding the people and places that make our world remarkable.

Q: I’m interesting! How do I tell you my awesome story?

A: We love hearing about unique people, places, families and situations. Check out the shows we are currently casting at the “Now Casting!” link and submit according to the instructions listed for each individual casting.

Q: I want to make a good impression… What can I do to make the Casting Department like me?

A: This is an easy one for us… BE YOURSELF! We want REAL people, REAL stories and REAL places. We have no doubt that your true story is interesting and amazing (everyone’s is!), and it’s our job to discover and develop the parts of your life that fit into what we are seeking. Conformity is boring, we want to celebrate what makes you different from everyone else in the world. As we say in the world of reality TV casting… “Being yourself is HOT, acting is NOT!” (we don’t really say that, but we do think it!).

Q: My phone must be broken… why haven’t you called me?

A: Once we find the perfect show for you, we will give you a call or send an email. Please include as many ways to get in touch with you as possible on your application (social media links, phone numbers, emails… we don’t want you to lose your chance because you quit facebook or changed your number!). It might take awhile for you to hear from us, so continue living your normal life and racking up those cool experiences to tell us about when we do call! When we need to find you, we will track you down (we promise).

Q: I’m ready to see my mug on TV… but how do I prepare for the call from casting?

A: We love putting a name with a face in the casting world, so we always request photos and videos, and often ask to chat with you online using “Skype.”

1. To stay one step ahead of the game, have someone snap some photos and videos of your awesome self (at work, at play, on vacation, with friends and family, or anything else that will help tell the story of YOU). We want to see glimpses into your everyday life as well as what makes your world extraordinary… show us what you got!

2. If you have a computer, tablet or smartphone, download the “Skype” application and set up a username. If you don’t have a computer, ask around to find out who will let you borrow one when we need to chat, and sign up for Skype at www.skype.com.

When we call, we often need to receive photos and videos very quickly. It’s much better to be over-prepared (and have an awesome montage of your life history for the future!), rather than rushing around at the last minute. And besides, there’s no time like the present… you’re going to be a reality TV star, so you may as well get used to having your life.
