Relativity Digital Studios Announces New Partnership With Lexus
RDS To Help Program and Develop Content for Lexus’ L/Studio Platform
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., (Feb. 24, 2015) – Relativity Digital Studios (“RDS”) today announced a new, unique partnership with Lexus where RDS will help program and develop content for the company’s L/Studio broadband channel (LStudio.com). The partnership was signed under the leadership of new President of RDS, Lisa Eisenpresser, and underscores the company’s commitment to the creation and distribution of premium, talent-driven content for digital platforms.
“This is an exciting time for Relativity Digital Studios as we continue to build our digital presence with compelling, premium content that re-writes the rules for how brands connect with audiences,” said Eisenpresser. “Our partnership with Lexus and its award-winning L/Studio platform further cements our commitment to creating a home devoted to amplifying the voices of today’s best and tomorrow’s next great storytellers.”
L/Studio currently hosts an eclectic collection of original films, live-action shows, documentaries and comedy programs, including the award-winning series “Web Therapy” starring Lisa Kudrow that is now in its fourth season on Showtime. RDS will collaborate with Lexus to help discover and create new premium content for the platform, which includes leveraging Relativity’s film, sports, fashion and music divisions to develop compelling, original programming. In addition, Relativity will look for unique opportunities to integrate the Lexus brand across the company’s ecosystem.
“Curating entertaining content to engage our L/Studio fans is challenging,” said Brian Smith, Lexus vice president of marketing. “We’re constantly seeking ways to build and evolve this platform with different genres and talent. Partnering with Relativity opens up a broad network of opportunities, and their experience in content production aligns with our goal to captivate fans.”
RDS has already developed or produced several programs for L/Studio. In collaboration with Relativity Sports, the division recently launched the workplace comedy “Interns” created by Michael Gallagher and Steve Green, which has guest starred athletes Jimmy Butler (Chicago Bulls), Pat McAfee (Indianapolis Colts) and former NFL star Terrell Owens. Also, L/Studio and RDS recently announced the mocumentary series “Cop Show,” which takes a fictional behind-the-scenes look at Colin Quinn trying to make an NYC cop show and features Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Norton, Amy Schumer, Jim Gaffigan, Saturday Night Live’s Michael Che, and other special guest stars in each episode.
L/Studio was designed as an experimental creative forum that produces content of interest to Lexus’ fans. It’s been a success with major Hollywood talent, allowing them to develop content specifically for L/Studio and to showcase their unique perspectives. Working with bold people and projects, the channel demonstrates Lexus’ dedication to supporting notable and diverse programs.
