Brenner    |
President, Production

Robbie Brenner serves as President of Production at Relativity Media where she continues to shepherd Relativity’s homegrown productions while leading the production team and overseeing all production and acquisitions.

As President of Production, Brenner recently worked on Beyond The Lights, co-starring Minnie Driver and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball). Currently, Brenner is in pre-production on The Crow, to be directed by Corin Hardy, and Hunter Killer, an action adventure to be directed by Martin Campbell and starring Gerard Butler. Brenner also oversaw production and served as an Executive Producer on Best of Me, an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ novel starring James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan; Three Days to Kill, starring Kevin Costner; Luc Besson’s The Family, starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones; Scott Cooper’s Out of the Furnace, with Christian Bale and Zoe Saldana, She also spearheaded the company’s acquisitions of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut, Don Jon, starring Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson, and Earth to Echo, a found footage family adventure from Disney. Brenner also supervised production on director Tarsem Singh’s stylish Snow White adaptation Mirror Mirror, starring Julia Roberts, and 3-D epic Immortals, starring Henry Cavill, which grossed more than $225 million worldwide. Other productions include the comedy 21 & Over, from the writers of The Hangover; The Fighter, which earned seven Oscar nominations and won two; and Lasse Hallström’s hits Dear John, starring Channing Tatum, and Safe Haven, starring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough. Brenner joined Relativity in 2009 as Executive Vice President of Production, and was integral to the studio’s acquisition of the Sundance documentary Catfish, which became a cultural sensation. She was promoted to President in 2011.

Before joining Relativity in 2009, Brenner produced Machine Gun Preacher starring Gerard Butler and directed by Golden-Globe nominated Marc Forster. Her additional producer credits include the Dallas Buyers Club, starring Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto, and Jennifer Garner, which was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and won three; Escape Plan, with Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Caviezel; A Perfect Getaway, starring Timothy Olyphant and Steve Zahn; Deception, starring Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor and Michelle Williams; and Haven, with Orlando Bloom and Bill Paxton. On the heels of her success with Dallas Buyers Club, Brenner recently started and heads a new specialty division at Relativity called R2 which has a focus on smaller prestige films with cross-over appeal. The first film under the banner will be the domestic drama The Tribes of Palos Verdes directed by DJ Caruso and starring Jennifer Garner, Tye Sheridan, and Maika Monroe.

Previously, Brenner ran the classics division at Davis Entertainment, where she aided in the development of feature remakes of Taps and Romancing the Stone and produced the monster-showdown sequel Alien vs. Predator: Requiem. Between 2005 and 2006 she held the position of Senior Vice President of Production at Twentieth Century Fox, acquiring and developing movies for the studio. Prior to that, Brenner spent nine years as a production and development executive at Miramax Films, working her way up the ranks to Senior Vice President.

Kenneth
Halsband    |
President, Physical & Post Production

Kenneth Halsband joined Relativity Media in 2007 as Head of Physical and Post Production. Drawing upon more than two decades of production experience, Halsband oversees budgeting, production, post production, delivery, downstream servicing, and global content security for all Relativity films.  He also oversees Relativity’s co-productions and acquisitions such as Free Birds, Don Jon, Black or White, The Lazarus Effect, Desert Dancer and Autobahn.

Halsband served as co-producer on such titles as the Oscar®-winning film The Fighter and Relativity’s box office hits Safe Haven, Immortals, Limitless, and Dear John, as well as the upcoming Masterminds and The Disappointments Room, among others.

Halsband also leads the studio’s efforts to expand film incentives in states and countries with developing film industries. He and the Relativity team were instrumental in the increased film incentive program in the Province of Quebec, Canada, and the recent increase to the State of Hawaii’s film incentive program.

In 2006, prior to joining Relativity, Halsband founded Finish Line Post, an independent technology lab and digital post-production company.

Halsband began his career in the entertainment industry working at Saturday Night Live with the film unit. He then worked in locations for Woody Allen’s Deconstructing Harry, Mighty Aphrodite, and Celebrity, among others, before moving on to producing.

Halsband earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York.

Kyle
Davies    |
President, Worldwide Distribution

Kyle Davies has served as President of Worldwide Distribution for Relativity Media since 2011, playing an instrumental role in the company’s evolution from a financing and producing entity into a full-fledged studio. His responsibilities include oversight of the overall distribution strategies for all movies produced and acquired by Relativity. Relativity releases that Davies has supervised include Safe Haven, Mirror Mirror, Act of Valor, Immortals and Limitless, among others. Davies was named President of Theatrical Distribution in 2010, after Relativity acquired Overture Films’ marketing and distribution assets. He previously served as Executive Vice President of Theatrical Distribution for Overture, where he handled the distribution of such titles as Law Abiding Citizen, Brooklyn’s Finest, The Crazies and The Visitor.

Prior to joining Overture, Davies was Senior Vice President, Distribution at Paramount Pictures, where he worked on releases including Mission: Impossible III and Over the Hedge. He joined Paramount following its purchase of DreamWorks, where he served as Senior Vice President, Distribution and was involved in such releases as Dreamgirls, Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, American Beauty, Shrek and Shrek II.

Davies began his entertainment career working for major theater chains including National Amusements and General Cinema, after receiving two B.S. degrees, in Radio-TV-Film and Advertising, from the University of Texas. He is a member of the executive committee of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation.

Matt
Alvarez    |
President, Multicultural Division

Matt Alvarez is the President of Relativity Studios’ multicultural division. He is responsible for expanding Relativity’s motion picture slate with a focus on projects driven by diverse filmmakers. The multicultural division’s first film was the November 2014 release Beyond the Lights, on which Alvarez served as an executive producer.

A highly prolific producer whose films have grossed more $800 million at the worldwide box office, Alvarez most recently produced Ride Along. He is currently producing Ride Along 2 and Straight Outta Compton, a biopic of legendary rap group NWA.

Alvarez partnered with hip-hop icon and actor Ice Cube in 1999 to launch and oversee the production company Cube Vision. In that capacity, Alvarez produced or executive produced numerous hits including Friday After Next, the Barbershop franchise, the Are We There Yet? franchise and All About the Benjamins.

Alvarez began his career at New Line Cinema where he worked on such films as Rumble in the Bronx and Deconstructing Harry.
